An invitation to attend our open house at the Hancock House as we continue to honor veterans as part of the society’s year-long “Commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the ending of WWII.” ~~ Sunday, November 8, 1 until 3 PM.
This is the last time to view the entire array of exhibits from this year’s World War II galleries as we looked back in time at both the home and war fronts. Many of the exhibits will be dismantled in order to prepare for upcoming “Festival of Trees,” a poplular community event.
It will be also a time to take another look at some of the highlights from this past August’s special event day with photographs and recordings from our successful “When the Lights Come on Again” program.
Light refreshments will be served and our “Olde Post Office Book and Gift Shop” will be opened.
We also invite your participation on Wed. ~ November 11,2015 – Veteran’s Day ~ to attend Ticonderoga’s American Legion Post #224– “Retrieval of Colors” ceremonies at our local cemeteries beginning at 8 AM at Valley View Cemetery, South Ticonderoga. From there the unit will move to the following cemeteries in order: Saint Mary’s, Mount Hope, Chilson, Vineyard, Ingalls, Miller, Boy Scout Monument and ending at 11 AM at Veterans’ Monument on Tower Avenue. Your attendance will be very much appreciated.
